DIALOGUES DECEMBER 2011

POSITIONS Nov. 30 – Dec. 04 2011

The DIALOGUES Festival has been in existence since 2005 – six years of programmes, experiments, performers and works lie behind us. The December 2011 Dialogues are the last to be programmed by Stephan Pauly and Berno Odo Polzer. The December programme assembles the main artistic positions of the past six years into a "final sprint", a review of and perspective on central works, performers, formats and situations. These combine to form a network of motifs from past programmes, of prominent performers, works and artistic convictions. Thus it is not a programme focusing on a specific composer or theme, but a network of motifs, cross-references, mutual highlighting of ideas, works and artists – a field for discoveries, future prospects, memories, re-encounters, new ways of listening, and a fresh opportunity for complex and moving concert experiences.

After December 2011, THE DIALOGUES GO ON. From the 2012-13 season onwards they will be directed by Matthias Schulz, who from 1 March 2012 will be head of the concert department and financial manager of the Mozarteum Foundation, as successor to Stephan Pauly, who is going to the Alte Oper [Old Opera House] in Frankfurt as artistic director.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Dialogues.
