In autumn 2008, the Mozarteum Foundation presented its children’s and youth programme to the public with an extensive range of events. After a year of preparation, and building on existing projects and offers for children and young people, the concert series “Mittendrin” and “Lausch Concerts”, as well as the “Piccolo Concerts” in cooperation with Jeunesse Austria were launched as part of an extended programme in the 2008-09 season.
Our children’s and youth programme was initially called “Ohren auf!” (Open your ears!) and later renamed “KlangKarton” (Sound Box). Over the course of ten years, we have continuously expanded our offerings in the three areas of concerts, research and museums against the backdrop of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation’s content and orientation: We build a bridge between the preservation of tradition and contemporary culture. Our objective is to open up new perspectives and give new impulses for learning about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
