Hands-on Mozart research: the Archive, the Bibliotheca Mozartiana and the Digital Mozart Edition open their workshops. Unmask forgeries, examine unusual passages in Mozart’s music using interactive audio synchronisation, decipher secret codes in Mozart’s letters, scrutinise watermarks in manuscripts – and explore the dance steps and festive culture of the 18th century in the family programme “Mozart dances!” in the Vienna Hall the dance steps and festive culture of the 18th century.

The Long Night of Research (LNF) is Austria’s largest event dedicated to science, research and innovation, and is aimed at all age groups. The event has been taking place across Austria every two years since 2005. In all nine federal states, you can discover what is often hidden away – exciting, surprising and astonishing things – with free admission! Around 170,000 visitors took part in the Long Night of Research 2024 at over 270 exhibition venues.
