Ernst Wally, born 1976 in Vienna, studied in Vienna and Paris (organ with Prof. Franz Falter and Prof. Michael Radulescu, composition with Prof. Dietmar Schermann, Prof. Michael Jarrell, Prof. Frédéric Durieux). After his activity as liturgical organist at various churches in Vienna, he was appointed to St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, first as assistant to the Cathedral Music Department and then as organist at St. Stephen's. In 2016 he was appointed Cathedral organist of St. Stephen's Cathedral.

His busy concert activity has taken him throughout Europe and overseas. His compositions of various genres have been performed in various European countries.
