Due to the current situation with regard to the COVID 19 pandemic, Hélène Grimaud has regrettably decided to cancel the concerts on October 2 and 4 in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation.

We are very happy that we could win Johannes Piirto for the soloist part. The 26-year-old Finn is considered a rising star in the pianist's sky - critics celebrate his piano playing as "breathtakingly virtuosic" and "free and brilliantly sparkling". Already at the age of 13 he was able to convince Valery Gergiev of his pianistic quality and since then he has performed several times at the Gergiev Festival in Mikkeli. Johannes Piirto has played with most Finnish orchestras such as the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the Finnish Chamber Orchestra and has worked with renowned conductors such as Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Dima Slobodeniouk and Olari Elts. Recently, the pianist performed Beethoven's violin sonatas at the Vienna Konzerthaus alongside Julian Rachlin.
