The work with musical germ cells and repeated patterns, the appropriation and creative reuse of foreign material, the retreat into the self and the opening to the popular: The programmatic ideas that run through this colorful evening with Daniel Hope, who has commissioned around 30 world premieres, and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra are manifold - not least the fact that two of the works, namely Philip Glass' "Echorus" and Arvo Pärt's "May I ...", were composed for Hope's mentor Yehudi Menuhin. Daniel Hope himself was and is Max Richter's musical partner for his re-composition of Vivaldi's "Seasons": a lovingly radical new invention.
