We are celebrating 50 years of the Salzburg Bach Society – with powerful musical emotions: war and battle, death, love, longing, pain, wit, and joy. Our program is dedicated to the powerful expressiveness of Baroque music. For our founder, the rediscovery of musical rhetoric and affect was a true revolution. This expressive musical language reached an early peak with Monteverdi and his contemporaries, as our program demonstrates. The festive finale will be a birthday celebration in the elegant setting of the DomQuartier.
