More than half a century of art
70 years of Mozart Week
To mark the 200th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart’s birth, the International Mozarteum Foundation organised an entire “festival week” in January 1956. Since then, Mozart Week has taken place annually and has established itself worldwide as the “first festival” of the year. We trace the history up to the present day, where Mozart Week, under the direction of Rolando Villazón, attracts tens of thousands of visitors from Austria and abroad.
