Programme

"From the moon to the fish" explores the spiritual music of the Sufists from Turkey and Syria, which also found its way to Europe in the Middle Ages. As part of the faith, music was integrated into rituals and thus unfolded its effect of uplifting the spirit. The Hathor Consort - founded in 2012 by the Austrian gambist Romina Lischka and named after Hathor, a mother deity of ancient Egypt - sees the same power in this music as in spirituality itself: It opens paths to something indefinable.
