"Mother City" - this is how South Africa's metropolis Cape Town is often affectionately referred to. Today it is a melting pot of European and African cultures and an oasis for artists. This programme is dedicated to three of them: Peter Klatzow, who is one of the few South African composers to achieve international recognition, the Hungarian-born Thomas Rajna, who achieved great honours as a pianist and composer in South Africa from 1970 onwards, and Hendrik Hofmeyr, who successfully continues the excellent South African composition tradition at the South African College of Music to this day.
