Johann Strauss son celebrates his 200th birthday and the whole music world celebrates with him!
The motto of the Salzburg Wind Philharmonic's Epiphany Concert 2025 under the direction of its chief conductor Hansjörg Angerer is “Happy Birthday Johann Strauss!”.

Not only the incomparable waltzes, which express his genius, imagination and endless inspiration, but also the variety of typical Viennese dance music - from polkas, quadrilles, musical scherzos to marches - from the pen of the Waltz King will be brought to life here.

Of course, colleagues and admirers of Johann Strauss such as Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi are just as much a part of this occasion as his most important fellow composer of the light muse, Jacques Offenbach, or the “Danish Strauss” Hans-Christian Lumbye. With these wonderful and exhilarating melodies, the Salzburg Wind Philharmonic celebrates a unique birthday roundelay as a prelude to Johann Strauss' anniversary year!
