They are among the most versatile up-and-coming musicians of their generation: the Austrian violinist Benjamin Herzl, praised by critics for his "virtuoso perfection" and his "deep and high musicality", and the Frenchman Ingmar Lazar, praised by Classica magazine as a "pianist with magnetic presence". In addition to Mozart's Violin Sonata K. 378, the two artists place the violin sonatas by Claude Debussy and César Franck, considered the most important French violin sonatas de fin de siècle, at the centre of their varied duo programme.
