Programme
Franziska Strohmayr (violin) plays musical portraits of women by Laura Konjetzky (*1977) [about Irma von Troll-Borostyáni], Lucia Philippek (*2001) [about Rosa Hofmann], Dr. Raimonda Žiūkaitė (*1991) [about Ashley Hans Scheirl], Sabina Hank (*1976) [about Elisabeth Fuchs], Marina Razumovskaja (*1988) [about Johanna Sedlmair], Anita Biebl (*1983) [about Teresa Lugstein].
As part of a tour through the province of Salzburg two years ago, Salzburg-based violinist Franziska Strohmayr awarded six commissions to female composers as part of her Kulturbiathlon - Frauen im Land Salzburg project, for which she was awarded the City of Salzburg's Cultural Promotion Prize. The composers were asked to write a work for solo violin (with optional accompaniment, percussion instruments or loop station) that deals with a woman from the province of Salzburg who is a role model for them. "Six female composers writing about six women, played by a violinist". The compositions reflect the entire spectrum of new music.
