Programme
In cooperation with the Kollegienkirche/Universitätspfarre Salzburg and the Literaturarchiv Salzburg: International Women's Day - Thomas Bernhard on the 35th anniversary of his death: ICH WILL ZORNIG SEIN - Psalmen.
Text: Thomas Bernhard (1931-1989), music: Mayako Kubo (*1947)
Kubo's composition "I will be angry" is a composition for 8 female voices, viola and organ based on texts by Thomas Bernhard. The important Japanese composer Mayako Kubo, who lives in Berlin, came into close contact with the author's poetry during her stay as "Artist in Residence" at the Thomas Bernhard House in Ottnang in 2018. Bernhard's anger is expressed both sacredly and profanely in an explosive tension between literature and music. Thomas Bernhard meets New Music: "Bring me schnapps, fame and love".
