Gradually, they are emerging from an undeserved shadowed existence. On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2027, the concert series Frauenstimmen by the Maria-Anna-Mozart Society highlights women composers from different eras. Particularly striking is the juxtaposition of Alma and Gustav Mahler with works by contemporary composers such as Rebecca Clarke, who fought for recognition in an era when women were scarcely granted the status of composer, as well as Elnaz Seyedi, Anda Kryeziu, and Lisa Streich, who rank among the most distinctive voices of today’s music scene.

The special concert Frauenstimmen is a cooperation between the International Mozarteum Foundation, the Maria-Anna-Mozart Society Salzburg, and the DomQuartier Salzburg.
