The Linz Jeunesse Choir, one of Upper Austria's leading chamber choirs (Choir of the Year 2023), embarks on an exciting musical journey through time in this predominantly sacred programme, which is dedicated to the theme of ‘light’ with the inclusion of instrumental music. Starting with the fascinating mysticism of Hildegard von Bingen, the journey leads through the impressionistic sound world of sisters Nadia and Lili Boulanger (‘Hymne au Soleil’) to contemporary music, where several sound-oriented works by young female composers will also be presented. The programme also pays tribute to Vally Weigl, a native of Vienna who fled to the USA in 1938 to escape the Nazi regime.
