Promoting talented young musicians in countries such as Colombia and Cuba is one of the important tasks of the International Mozarteum Foundation. A number of young artists have already gained a foothold in Europe and are working on their careers. Accordingly, all three ensembles at the Sofa Concert have Latin American roots. They come together in Salzburg for LatinoMozart and share the stage of the Wiener Saal. The sometimes unusual groups present music from their countries, including two world premieres, and bring it into harmony with Mozart. Rolando Villazón will elicit from them in dialog how the performers came to play their instruments, what moves them about the music and much more.
