For the eleventh time, the Salzburg Museum Weekend 2026 invites you to discover the fascinating world of museums with free admission! Under the motto “Museums connect in a diverse world”, numerous museums in the city and province of Salzburg will open their doors on 16 and 17 May 2026 and present a varied programme of special events.

Guided tours and presentations at Mozart’s Residence on 16 May:

The fateful year of 1791 – from moments of glory and great successes to Mozart’s tragic death – For W.A. Mozart, the year 1791 was so much more than just The Magic Flute.
Which other compositions date from this year? How and where did W.A. Mozart live at that time? What drove him?

Two singers, accompanied on W.A. Mozart’s original concert grand piano, will introduce you to his life and work in the year 1791.
