We congratulate Olivia Mitterhuemer and Farah Deen on receiving the 2024 Cultural Promotion Award! With this award, the City of Salzburg honours the Potpourri association, Salzburg's contact point for professional hip-hop and house dance, for its commitment to intercultural exchange and the thematisation of marginalised groups.
Music by Mozart, Bach, Handel a. o.
A group of street dancers and a DJ meet each other so as to sound out the parallels between classical music and hip-hop, the style originally created in the vibrant streets of New York. Farah Deen and Olivia Mitterhuemer repeatedly succeed in enthralling audiences with their dance styles and expressive performance skills, which otherwise tend to exist as a niche form.
