Artistic Director Rolando Villazón and the team of the International Mozarteum Foundation are delighted to present the programme for Mozart Week 26!
The year 2026 marks two major anniversaries: the 270th birthday of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart and the 70th edition of Mozart Week. The world’s most important Mozart festival celebrates this double jubilee with a new production of the most beloved opera of all time: Mozart’s The Magic Flute.
The production will be staged by Rolando Villazón and conducted by Roberto González-Monjas with the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg.
Surrounding this operatic highlight is a rich and vibrant programme of 70 events, including top-class orchestral and chamber concerts. Among them are farewell appearances by two legendary ensembles, as well as a variety of other offerings: enchanting marionette theatre with live music, performance art, cinema featuring rare early films inspired by Mozart, readings, artist talks, a pub quiz, family events and much more.
Mozart Week takes place from 22 January to 1 February 2026.
