Programme

Have you ever imagined a fusion of the elegance of European classical music with the dynamic and colorful sounds of the East? The answer can be found in the "Symphony of Friendship", a concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of relations between Indonesia and Austria.

The concert will be performed by 50 professional musicians from the Jakarta Concert Orchestra, the leading orchestra in Indonesia. A variety of original compositions and arrangements based on Indonesian folk music will be presented with captivating orchestrations. The concert will be conducted by Avip Priatna, founder and music director of the JCO. Avip Priatna is a graduate of the conducting program at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2021, he was awarded a prize by the Austrian government.

The Batavia Madrigal Singers, winner of the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing 2022, as well as instrumental and vocal soloists from Indonesia and Austria will provide a colorful and sophisticated performance.
