Everything is interwoven: Mozart’s genius would be unthinkable without Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons. Through music-making, the ensemble freymut traces the fascinating path from Baroque polyphony to the Classical style that Mozart brought to its culmination. The idea of musical transmission into the present continues in Daniel Serrano’s Suite pour Madame Levy, a work by the award-winning composer dedicated to Sara Levy, the Berlin salonnière and passionate collector who preserved numerous works by the Bach family.
This living dialogue between past and present shows that music is always in flux.
