"Clarinetísimo": 20 clarinets on stage with a program that begins with the melodies of Mozart's time and ends with a dialogue between these and Colombian rhythms.
The wide range of timbres, nuances and registers that make the clarinet a versatile and inspiring instrument will be reflected in a repertoire that will reveal the magic of a harmonious interplay of 20 Colombian clarinettists performing music by Mozart, Salieri, Hummel and Eybler in different formats, with a surprising conclusion that will introduce the Salzburg audience to rhythms such as Bambuco, Vallenato and Joropo.
The diversity of this group is reflected not only in the sound of their instruments and in their repertoire, but also in its 20 members, who have been selected as part of the Iberacademy's social program for human and musical accompaniment - In Crescendo - because they play a leading role in their communities.
The clarinet choir is made up of a selection of musicians from 55 communities in Antioquia (Colombia), where the Iberacademy is present thanks to the support of the HILTI Foundation. This selection includes: young teachers from music schools in the department of Antioquia, young music students from the communities associated with In Crescendo and members of the Iberacademy program. This experience represents a unique opportunity for them to approach and dialog with the Salzburg musical tradition, the undisputed pillar of Western music, which also allows them to broaden their perspectives, motivate themselves and acquire instruments that they can share with others and enrich their communities. For some of them, this meeting is also their first international cultural exchange.
The Ibero-American Philharmonic Academy - Iberacademy - is a human development program based on musical excellence founded more than a decade ago by maestros Alejandro Posada Gómez and Roberto González-Monjas in Medellín, Colombia, to provide opportunities and foster experiences for young talent in Latin America aimed at motivating, inspiring and training leaders who transform society through instrumental practice, pedagogy and creative entrepreneurship.
