Programme
His music is profound, with a knowledge of learned harmony and a skill in its use that puts him close to Johann Sebastian Bach.
This is how Bohemia's greatest Baroque composer was already judged in the Classical period. He was later given the romanticizing nickname of the Bohemian Bach. He developed a profound and highly complex style, which is expressed with particular virtuosity in his versatile psalm compositions. Despite his undisputed mastery, he was long forgotten.
In recent years, however, there has been an international Zelenka renaissance, led in particular by the world-leading Ensemble Inégal under the direction of Adam Viktora. Ensemble Inégal has dedicated itself to this great music and is celebrating its Austrian debut with the Salzburg Bach Society.
