Edith Piaf, the sparrow of Paris, is something like her big sister. As a character and with her songs, she has remained faithfully at Maria Bill's side for over 30 years, accompanying her in concert halls and on theater stages. Although the Swiss singer places great value on her own audible interpretation of the songs, she resembles the Frenchwoman in her passion and tireless passion for the music and the audience. Dressed in black, lips painted bright red and a smoky, emotionally intense voice: "Padam, Padam" - this is how the petite Bill, vibrating with energy, is known as she follows in the footsteps of the Parisian singer in the Mozarteum's main hall on October 24, 2024. Since she now knows Piaf almost as well as she knows herself, she tells the audience touchingly emotional anecdotes and biographical details of a life marked by highs and deep crises, illustrating the well-known chansons.
It is Maria Bill's great concern to introduce the audience to the personality of this immortal singer from her very personal perspective. "Edith Piaf is a woman who lived passionately and lavishly, always in search of love and recognition. It is my heartfelt duty to keep her story alive and bring it into the present day. The story of this small, great, unforgettable artist."
