Violent storms, birdsong, icy snow: Le quattro stagioni with its virtuosically composed imitations of numerous natural phenomena is without doubt Antonio Vivaldi's best-known work - programme music at its best. With Las cuatro estaciones porteñas, the four seasons of Buenos Aires, Astor Piazzolla created the Latin American counterpart. The pulse of the metropolis is reflected in the extensive tangos: strong feelings such as passion, fleetingness and loneliness take hold of the people. The Quartetto Chagall and Igor Zobin interweave the pieces into an exciting symbiosis.
