Scenes from both one-act operas
Emperor Joseph II spared no expense in the spring of 1786 and served his brother-in-law Prince Albert Casimir of Saxony, Duke of Teschen, the best in opera that Vienna could offer: Mozart and Salieri who created two amusing skits on opera. Haydn’s first Cello Concerto is served as an hors d’œuvre for connoisseurs.
