They have to play their way through four rounds to land on the coveted winner's podium: Every year in late summer, young, highly talented instrumentalists and chamber music ensembles from all over the world present themselves at the internationally renowned ARD Music Competition. The competition is enormous, and an award is often the springboard to a promising career. In spring, the ARD Music Competition Festival sends the prize winners on tour. One of the stops is the Vienna Hall of the International Mozarteum Foundation, where the musicians who won in the piano trio, viola and double bass categories present themselves to the Salzburg audience in a joint concert.
