KlangKarton – the programme of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation for children, families and young people

This season we present BALANCE ACT.
We want to BALANCE with themes, with artists*, with events, with tradition and modernity: AKTE, as the second component of the word “BALANCE ACT”, we encounter in life: as actions and modes of action, in the visual arts as a game of pointing and masking and for example in Mozart’s operas to action on stage to give a rough structure. With this playfully associative use of the term we are already close to the traces of Mozart: his passion for games and gadgets. Our children’s and youth program wants to reflect the here and now of our young visotors. The experienced moment is the convincing thing – no matter how good the concept.

Children and young people do not judge on the basis of abstract intentions and ideas, but whether the performance fits, whether they feel something, whether it stimulates them or not. Therefore, the moment on stage, the workshop and the museum tour must be balanced in the here and now, also and above all when it is about negotiating the past and future of a young generation.

I am looking forward to playing together with you in the coming time the different
to experience BALANCE ACT.
