The two Mozart museums offer a diverse program of guided tours. Depending on the different interests and age groups of individual visitors, groups, and school classes, the information about the life and music of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart is prepared according to age and interest.
Guided tours are only available by upon request.
Reservations are not required if the group does not want a guided tour.
There is a group discount for 10 people or more:
10,50 € per person (16 € combined ticket)
For groups of 15 or more, admission is free for one person (every 16th person).
School classes (up 18 years:
Admission in the school group 3,00 € per person (4,50 € combo ticket).
For every ten students, one supervisor has free admission.
Payment by voucher only possible after written agreement!

Mozart – early childhood of a genius
250 years ago, a boy grew up in Salzburg who soon became famous throughout Europe. How old was he when he first picked up a violin? Did he go to kindergarten or to school? What was his favorite drink? And is it true that he composed his first piece of music at the age of six?

How long did Mozart live in Salzburg? How big was his parents’ apartment? Did he have his own nursery, did he go to school? Is it true that he could play the piano blindfolded, and what did his first self-written notes look like?

Guided tour & special workshop
45-minute action-packed guided tour for children through Mozart’s apartment in Mozart’s birthplace, Getreidegasse 9; joint crafting of a calendar of class events in the form of the Mozart birthplace. The calendar can be taken along.

Christmas with the Mozart family
The Mozart family lived 250 years ago in Salzburg. How was Christmas celebrated during this time? Did the Mozart’s also sing Christmas songs under the Christmas tree? Was there already an Advent calendar for the children? This dialogue tour answers questions about everyday life in the 18th century and at the same time tells many details about the life of the Mozart family.

Mozart’s birthplace – a house full of stories!
The yellow house on Getreidegasse has become world famous as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart. However, it is also a typical old house in Salzburg’s city center that has many exciting stories to tell. Together we will walk from the cellar to the roof of the house and get to know the most hidden corners of an 800-year-old building.

Mozart – more than just Salzburg
Mozart lived on Getreidegasse for 17 years. Soon after moving to the other side of the Salzach River, he left the city. What happened to him? Where did he go, which people were important to him? A tour that shows more than “the child prodigy”.

In 1773, the Mozart family moved into the Dance Master’s Hall. How can you imagine life there? Learn about celebrations, travels, concerts, and the family life of the Mozarts. See instruments, books, and pictures from that time and experience the splendor of the house’s own ballroom.

Maria Anna Walburga Ignatia Mozart, called Nannerl, was not only the sister of a child prodigy and genius: she was also a daughter, a musician, a piano teacher, and a piano prodigy. Oh, and there is much more to discover about her…

Leopold Mozart special tour
For a long time, the musician and composer Leopold Mozart was “only” the father of the musical prodigy Wolfgang Amadé Mozart. But he was also a famous personality of the 18th century. Together we will embark on an exciting journey into his life and work in the former “Tanzmeisterhaus”.

MOZART’S RED THREAD
City walk with a search for traces in Salzburg.

Many stories surround the various Mozart sites in Salzburg. Over the past 250 years, countless half-truths have also been established. The walk, which runs like a red thread from the birthplace through the most beautiful places in Salzburg to the supposedly last resting place of Leopold and Constanze Mozart, offers exclusive insights behind the scenes and clears up false traditions and myths.
We are happy to adapt the city walk to your individual needs.

“I want to have everything that is good, genuine, and beautiful!” It is no coincidence that this phrase in bold neon colors, written by Mozart, decorates the façade of the Mozarteum Foundation, created by the artist Sylvie Fleury. The Art Nouveau building houses two of the most splendid concert halls in the world, the Great Hall and the Viennese Hall, as well as the elegantly captivating Bibliotheca Mozartiana. The new, award-winning foyers, filigree, airy, and bright, fit seamlessly between the listed parts of the Mozarteum building. An architecturally unique ensemble whose beauty enchants.

MOZART’S HANDWRITING
Guided tour through the autograph vault.
For all age groups. 60 minutes.
It houses more than half of all known documents of the Mozart family: the autograph vault of the International Mozarteum Foundation. The unique collection contains around 190 original letters by Mozart, around 370 by his father, and over 100 autograph music manuscripts, mostly sketches and drafts, but also some original scores. A visit to the autograph vault is only possible as part of special tours with prior registration and subject to availability.
